The Future of Energy and the Environment


​As Oshawa, Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area continue to grow, how can cities best tackle energy and environmental challenges?


​The University of Ontario Institute of Technology’s (UOIT) fourth-annual Futures Forum was focused on the future of energy and the environment within Durham Region and across Ontario. Throughout the forum, three themes were explored:​

  • ​Environmental justice and energy equality;

  • Energy technology solutions, options and impacts; and

  • Building and powering sustainable cities.
