WIECan Presents: Engaging Men as Inclusion Advocates
Please join WIECan and Catalyst for a discussion on Engaging Men As Inclusion Advocates.
Men have a pivotal role to play in creating workplaces where both women and men can thrive. But too often they are missing from workplace diversity and inclusion efforts, or only peripherally involved. Catalyst research shows that the more men know about gender inequalities; the more likely they are to act as advocates and lead efforts to close the gender gap.
What can workplaces collectively do to encourage and leverage men's work to address inequality? Catalyst research indicates that there are many ways to support men's increasing engagement. This session will explore the three B's of engaging men in gender initiatives: Barriers, Benefits, Behaviours, and leave participants with concrete tools on how to cultivate a gender partnership to drive mutually beneficial inclusion.
Participants will:
Examine and challenge assumptions and mindsets that influence men’s role in inclusion and efforts to achieve gender equity.
Unpack men's advocacy motivations and behaviours.
Learn about inclusive leadership behaviours, as well as what drives men to respond directly or do nothing about sexism in the workplace.
Formulate and commit to tangible interventions and actions that can be immediately implemented in their daily business context.
We encourage you to invite a colleague of the opposite gender.
We look forward to your participation.
